PROCESS TURBIDITY / BED LEVEL
Clarometer PT : Turbidity Probe and Enclosure
The CLAROMETER PT: Process Turbidity, is a versatile device for measuring process turbidity in industrial applications. Typically it will monitor both the Bed Level and Overflow Turbidity in any mining application, and can also be used for Flotation Feed and Tailings Turbidity variations.
The CLAROMETER PT has a dedicated PLC and Touch Screen HMI combined with a programmable turbidity amplifier. It has dual measuring scales; normally Percentage and NTU for low end turbidity. It also has multiple scale ranges, auto zero and auto cleaning, all accessible and adjustable through the touch screen.
For Bed Level, the probe is set to monitor turbidity variations as the bed rises and falls, and for Overflow, the probe is located in either the overflow launder or in the outer periphery of the thickener.
Low end turbidity, under 4000 NTU, is ideal for monitoring Thickener Overflow Turbidity. The Clarometer PT has an alternate scale which has been calibrated using a laboratory grade 4000 NTU standard. With several selectable ranges, the most suitable NTU range can be selected. The standard turbidity measurement across the entire range can be displayed as a percentage.
The CLAROMETER PT has two versions:
Single Probe: for either Bed Level or Overflow Turbidity.
Dual Probe: where both the Bed and Overflow turbidity can be monitored simultaneously.
The probe has been specifically designed to minimise scale build up. Additionally it has a permanently attached cleaning station which allows repetitive automatic cleaning to be initiated in situ.
The stainless steel enclosure has a viewing window to show the current process measurement which is displayed on the touch screen. The Clarometer PT generates a 4-20mA signal, which is selectable to either Percentage or NTU, for monitoring or control by the plant supervisory control system.
Viewing Window and Cable Reel with Slip Rings
On some sites it is easier to locate the probe using our specially designed cable reel, particularly on totally enclosed thickeners. It provides a simple method to raise the probe for thickener maintenance or if additional manual cleaning is required.
The CLAROMETER PROCESS TURBIDITY system is designed and manufactured by Oscillation.
